Larry Fish began his career as a Missouri law enforcement officer in 2004 after completing the Western Missouri Police Academy. He immediately became a Harrison County, Missouri Deputy Sheriff.
At Harrison County he was promoted to the position of Jail Administrator, Road Patrol and later School Resource Officer serving five schools.
​
In 2007 he became a member of the Clinton County Sheriff's Office as a Road Patrol Deputy. Later he accepted a position with the Pleasant Valley, Missouri Police Department. In 2010 he was promoted to Detective, and in 2012 Larry was promoted to Detective Sergeant.
​
Larry is the former Chief of Police for the Trimble Police Department, and served 16 years as a volunteer fire fighter for various departments in Missouri.
​
Larry is a former Detective Sergeant with a suburban Kansas City police agency. As a detective and key employee at that agency, he investigated all types of crimes - from misdemeanors to felonies - adding to his experience and abilities.
​
Since January of 2017, Larry Fish has been your Clinton County Sheriff - the Chief Law Enforcement Officer in the county.
​
Sheriff Fish has established vital programs that continue to benefit Clinton County, including the Chaplain Unit, K-9 Unit, Citizens' Academy, CCW and Self Defense training, and the Jail Committee. Under his watch, the 911 Communications Center staff, equipment and training are continuously undergoing improvements in technology and efficiency.
He has corrected staffing concerns in areas of the Sheriff's Office that had long been understaffed. He has obtained badly-needed equipment - sometimes at no cost, through grants and other opportunities - that had previously been unavailable to the staff. He implemented programs that increased the efficiency of the office, enhanced services provided to the citizens, and improved the safety of the Sheriff's Office staff. He spearheaded the passage of a Law Enforcement Tax, allowing for unprecedented improvements to pay rates and employee retention, training, equipment and safety enhancements.

Another large step was migrating to the statewide radio system, and doing so for very little cost. One of the most important efforts Sheriff Fish led was the
coordinated partnership with every Police, Fire and EMS agency in the County. Working together as one team is a necessity, and every agency joined the effort, which creates a solid working relationship.
​
In order to continue this vital, steady progress, Sheriff Fish needs your vote. His work here is not finished. He has proven that he is a fighter; that he stands up for what is right, and that he stands up for your rights. Whether the fight is against crime, politics or internal mishaps, he is the Sheriff for the People. Larry Fish is a Master Mason with the Kearney Masonic Lodge. Larry Fish is a Christian. He makes his home in Plattsburg, where he and his wife Brandi are the loving parents of their six children.
